i think that this post should be entitled “DON’T DIY”!
In some respects you’re correct! When we see the DIY TV shows, we don’t see the injuries, major failures or the inspections that don’t pass (if the inspections happen at all!). There is a huge difference in skills required to renovate a bathroom compared to just painting a room. But overall the smart renovators know when to hire professionals – even if only for a few tasks.
